What I love about Christmas
Hanging Christmas stockings
Counting down the days
Finding the perfect present for somebody
When the tree is the only light in the room
Looking at the street decorations
Walking the light trail
Candles
Putting up the tree
Wrapping the presents in matching wrapping
Snow globes
Getting Christmas cards in the mail
Polar express
Christmas baking
Rudolph
Christmas music
Crowded malls on Christmas Eve
Shopping for new ornaments
Reading the girls letters to Santa
Making the Christmas cake
And this year a completely new experience snuggling by the fire drinking hot chocolate while watching a Christmas movie

Christmas Work Has Begun
We have decided to stay in Georgia for Christmas this year. I think it will give us another opportunity to get to know more about the Georgian culture and its people.
The vast majority of the population is Orthodox Christian. Christmas is one of the most important holidays of the year. In the Orthodox world, the old Julian calendar is still used, meaning that Christmas falls on January the 7th. Leading up to the 7th people often fast for 40 days, no meat, dairy or eggs and of course no alcohol, which is the most difficult part for most of the male population in Georgia. On the 7th after attending a church service a supra or feast begins.
