Hair flicking, eye rolling, what ever

We are now a month into the busy time of rugby. With Milton coming and going for the last five weeks, the girls and I have gone about our normal routines, catching brief moments will him when he is home. The girls on the whole cope really well when their Dad is away, but at times pushing the behaviour boundaries and driving me crazy. When they were little consequences were so easy. Time out, done. Now the attitude is slipping in, the hair flick, roll of the eyes (I so remember doing that) but now the "what ever". Oh how this makes the blood boil and makes me want to say "I'll give you what ever" and for a while this is what I did say, with a rant and a rave about respect blah, blah, blah. Did this work, hell no. Thinking back to my young days, yes it is hard to remember at times, but who did I listen to when being disciplined as a kid. My Dad. My Dad didn't say much, a few well thought out words or none at all got me moving in the right direction. Will this work for me. I'm trying my hardest to say very little when faced with challenges of the behaviour kind, IT'S SO HARD. My answer to the 'what ever' choose a toilet to clean, nothing more is said. Its working for me. I think one angel in particular had to clean all 3 in one day. I'm guessing that they will soon learn, or I will never have to clean another toilet again.
